You didn’t click on the video but it started playing on your news feed the moment you saw it.
Two problems with videos auto-playing on Facebook is that; you end up using more of your internet data to download a video you did not plan on watching, and you also run the risk of seeing something you are not interested in.
There is a way out, and in this post, i am going to show you how to turn off Facebook auto-play videos for both desktop and the mobile app.
Turn off Facebook auto-play videos on desktop:
Click on “Settings” on the “edit account menu” list.
- Click on “Videos” on the left hand side to get to “video settings“.
- Click on “Default” on “Auto-Play Videos” and change the setting to “off“.
Turn off Facebook auto-play videos 0n mobile:
Touch the three horizontal lines (settings) , scroll down and select “App Settings”
- Select “off“.
